1. About Dodgy Driver

Dodgy Driver is a public website where people can submit and view reports about vehicles and road-related behaviour.

These terms apply when you:

• browse the website;
• submit a report;
• award Dodgy Points;
• use a Dodgy Detector username;
• flag a report; or
• use any other interactive feature.

By using Dodgy Driver, you agree to these terms.

2. What Dodgy Driver is not

Dodgy Driver is not the police, the DVLA, a court, a local authority or an official road traffic enforcement service.

Submitting a report to Dodgy Driver does not report the matter to an official authority.

A published report does not prove that:

• an offence was committed;
• a particular person was driving;
• the registered keeper was involved;
• every part of the report is correct;
• the registration was entered correctly; or
• the vehicle was not displaying a cloned registration.

Reports relate to submitted evidence and a vehicle registration. They are not convictions, criminal records or official driver records.

3. Submitting a report

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a report.

By submitting a report, you confirm that:

• the information is honest and accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• the evidence relates to the incident being reported;
• you captured the evidence yourself or have permission to use it;
• you have the right to submit the material;
• the vehicle registration has been entered as accurately as possible; and
• you are not deliberately misleading Dodgy Driver or its users.

You must not put yourself or anyone else in danger to capture evidence.

Do not use a handheld phone while driving, follow another vehicle, confront anyone, trespass or interfere with a vehicle.

4. What must not be submitted

You must not submit anything that:

• you know is false or misleading;
• contains threats, abuse or harassment;
• encourages people to identify, contact or confront someone;
• contains unnecessary personal information;
• includes names, private addresses, phone numbers or email addresses;
• unnecessarily shows identifiable faces;
• focuses on or identifies a child;
• infringes copyright or another person’s rights;
• has been unlawfully obtained;
• has been deceptively edited or staged;
• contains spam or unrelated advertising; or
• otherwise breaks the law.

Reports should focus on the vehicle, the evidence and what happened—not assumptions about the person driving.

5. Reviewing reports

Submitting a report does not guarantee that it will be published.

Before or after publication, Dodgy Driver may:

• approve or reject a report;
• ask for more information;
• correct registration formatting;
• edit the written description;
• remove insults, speculation or personal information;
• make a location less specific;
• crop, blur or obscure parts of an image;
• change the category;
• combine or remove duplicate reports;
• temporarily hide a report; or
• remove a report completely.

Approval means that the report met our publishing rules when it was reviewed. It does not mean that Dodgy Driver independently proved every part of it.

6. Responsibility for reports

You remain responsible for the material you submit.

Our review does not confirm that:

• everything in the report is correct;
• you obtained the evidence lawfully;
• the material does not affect someone else’s rights; or
• the report proves that an offence occurred.

You should keep the original evidence where reasonably possible in case a complaint needs to be investigated.

False, abusive or deliberately misleading reports may be removed. Your access to Dodgy Driver may also be restricted.

7. Permission to use submitted material

You continue to own any copyright you hold in material you submit.

By submitting material, you give Dodgy Driver non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free permission to:

• store and review it;
• edit, crop, resize or format it;
• obscure personal information;
• publish it on Dodgy Driver;
• include it on registration pages and leaderboards;
• share it through Dodgy Driver social media, emails and promotional material; and
• retain reasonable records for complaints, security or legal purposes.

This permission allows Dodgy Driver to operate and promote the website without paying you for use of the submission.

We will not intentionally edit material in a way that materially misrepresents what was submitted.

Removing a report from Dodgy Driver may not remove copies already made by search engines, social media services or other users.

8. Public reports and registration pages

Published reports are public. They may appear in search engines and may be shared by other people.

A registration page shows approved reports associated with that registration. It is not a profile of a particular driver or registered keeper.

Different people may drive the same vehicle, vehicles may change ownership and registrations may sometimes be entered incorrectly or cloned.

You must not use Dodgy Driver to identify, threaten, harass or confront another person.

9. Dodgy Points and leaderboards

Dodgy Points are reactions selected by users of the website.

They are not:

• fines or penalties;
• legal findings;
• proof that an offence occurred;
• proof that a report is accurate; or
• an assessment of a particular driver or registered keeper.

Dodgy Points have no cash value.

We may change how Dodgy Points and leaderboards work, remove manipulated activity, recalculate results or exclude reports where reasonably necessary.

You must not manipulate Dodgy Points using fake identities, automated tools, duplicate submissions or coordinated false voting.

10. Dodgy Detector usernames

A Dodgy Detector username may be associated with the email address used to submit reports.

Your email address will not normally be displayed publicly.

We may change or remove a username where it is abusive, misleading, inappropriate or likely to reveal personal information.

You must not use a username to impersonate another person or organisation.

11. Flagging or disputing a report

A report can be flagged through the website or by emailing support@dodgydriver.co.uk.

Please include:

• the link to the report;
• the registration shown;
• what you believe is wrong; and
• any relevant supporting information.

A report may be flagged because:

• the registration is incorrect;
• the image does not match the description;
• personal information is visible;
• the description is misleading;
• the report is a duplicate;
• the material infringes someone’s rights; or
• the report otherwise breaks these terms.

We may temporarily hide a report while it is reviewed.

We may ask for reasonable evidence that you are connected to the report, vehicle or material concerned. Do not send sensitive documents unless we specifically ask for them.

Following a review, we may correct, restrict, remove or restore the report.

12. Misuse of Dodgy Driver

You must not:

• interfere with the website or its security;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access;
• introduce malicious software;
• create fake activity;
• collect large amounts of website data using automated tools;
• use the website to harass another person; or
• use Dodgy Driver for an unlawful purpose.

We may restrict or block access where reasonably necessary to protect the website or other people.

13. Accuracy and availability

Dodgy Driver cannot guarantee that every report is accurate, complete or up to date.

The website is provided for general information and entertainment. You should not rely on a report or registration page as the sole basis for:

• confronting or accusing someone;
• buying or selling a vehicle;
• making an employment, insurance or financial decision;
• beginning legal action; or
• deciding whether a particular person is safe or trustworthy.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or free from errors.

We may change, suspend or remove reports, features or parts of the website.

14. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.

Dodgy Driver is not responsible for losses caused by:

• false or inaccurate information submitted by another user;
• your misuse of the website;
• another person’s actions;
• events outside our reasonable control;
• temporary website unavailability; or
• relying on a report for a purpose for which it was not designed.

We cannot guarantee that every false, unlawful or inappropriate submission will be identified.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected and used.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the website, its features or the law changes.

The latest version will be published on Dodgy Driver with an updated date.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
